- Harry Kane is set to fly to Germany to complete his £86m move to Bayern Munich
- The England striker gave a seal of approval to the move after both clubs agreed on a fee
- Tottenham boss, Ange Postecoglu had a hilarious response when asked how he would be replaced
Tottenham boss, Ange Postecoglu has got a good sense of humour, and he had it on display when he was asked about how the recoups from the sale of Harry Kane would be spent.
After an initial delay, the England striker will fly to Germany and complete his medical in time to be available for Bayern Munich's German Super Cup final against RB Leipzig for the chance to win his first trophy.
The Athletic noted that agreement was reached for £86.4m, including add-ons by both clubs, after weeks of extensive negotiation, and the player remained calm and respectful during the process.
He will sign a four-year contract and wear the number 9 jersey as Thomas Tuchel hopes to bolster his forward line with a proper number 9 since the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.
Postecoglou shows humorous side
Former Celtic boss Postecoglu took over the reins at North London at a difficult time, which coincides with the departure of one of the league's best strikers.
The void left by the 30-year-old is expected to be filled this summer, but the Australian boss admits it will not be easy, despite the club planning all summer for Kane's departure.
He made this known during his press conference before the season opener against Brentford, via Football London.
"I don't think it works that way. It is not my wife handing me a shopping list to go and get milk and bread for the kids," he said, sending the whole press room into laughter.
Harry Kane: Bayern Munich Far From Meeting Tottenham’s Valuation of England Striker
Football"Our whole strategy has been around the fact Harry wasn't going to be around more than likely," he added.
The 57-year-old added that the full focus is on the game against London rivals as there is no way a new signing can be registered ahead of the game.
Reactions to Kane's transfer
Sports Brief previously reported on how fans reacted to Harry Kane sealing a transfer to Bayern Munich after the news broke that an agreement was in place with Spurs.
At 30 and with enviable goal records, he can claim to be one of the best strikers in the world but is yet to win a trophy in his career. However, the German champions give him a higher chance of doing that.
